Hello fellow developers, or business owners looking to find new ways to grow your business online. It’s been a solid two months of service niche domain development for a handful of great clients, and for great reason.

As many of my past posts discussed, a great strategy for dominating your local search market is to develop service niche descriptive domain names.

As a developer you’ll ensure you always have clients to lease them to, generating you great residual income.

As a business owner, it means you can dominate your competition, especially if you implement my strategy of developing your own Authority Site Network (ASN).

As a business owner, you should also make sure you acquire a dozen or so of the most relevant domain names to your service niche, and locations you serve.

It’s great to lease and benefit from highly ranked service niche donain names, but it’s always better to own them!

Service Niche Domain Development

So how do you find and purchase the best service Niche domain names so that you can benefit from owning these amazing domains, without having to lease these domain names from Domain Developers?

The first thing you need to do is understand how to purchase the best descriptive domain names for the service niche you operate in.

But I understand I mean understanding all of the keywords, and search phrases that describe your business, what the services you provide. After you make a comprehensive list of these, you also need to couple these keywords with the geographical locations that you serve.

Things to consider are keyword placement within the string of words that will make up your domain name. These greatly affect the search engine result pages returned to the person searching online.

Once you have your list of a few dozen potential domain names that you would like to purchase you would head over to a domain register and begin searching from your list to see which domain names are available for purchase.

I state to have a few dozen potential domain names on your list because you will find that many of them have already been scooped up by others.

It’s important to note that as you’re searching for available domain names any domains that are available to purchase you should do so immediately.

Once somebody else requires that domain name you would like the only way you can obtain the domain name is either to wait until it expires, or purchase / lease the domain name from the person that registered it.

Some of my larger clients have taken my advice and have purchased dozens or more domains, and I have developed a dominating presents for them online.

A few of my clients have up to a hundred domain names, many which are not developed yet, but were purchased in a defensive move not allowing their competition to the access to these donains.

And you may be wondering what is the returned on investment from purchasing, and developing all of these domain names?

2017 came and went fast, and it was a profitable year of domain name development and domain leasing. But 2018 is going to be our best year yet!

.NYC Domain Names and .NYC Websites – Who’s Using It?

Well just to get right to it, this has been the longest period of time away from sharing information here on this site. About 4 months flew by, and a lot of that time has been developing .NYC domain names, ranking .NYC websites, and make .NYC premium domain name acquisitions.

.NYC domains have proven to be powerhouses for developing websites for local NYC businesses. I have also found them to be easier to rank to the first page of Google then the equivalent .Com’s, and especially the other top level domain extensions.

These domains, once developed have become a big part of my domain leasing service here in NYC.

Call it a domain name addiction, but I’ve scooped up about 200 or so .NYC domains, and recently paid $3000 dollars for a premium .nyc domain (more info on this domain in the near future). More info here about NYC premium domains.

But why would I drop 3k on one of these domains? Simple answer, local New York City businesses are getting very savvy to the power, and credibility of developing their site (or secondary site) on these domains, which means they are more then willing to pay $250, $500, and $1000 for these domains bundled with other SEO / local marketing services.

NYC Domain TLD Extension .NYCBut forget about what I’ve been doing with these domains, the big question you probably are wondering is what does the NYC Domain TLD Extension mean to you? Good question.

If you are looking to make a solid investment, and quickly turn a $25 dollar a year domain registration into $3000 – $12,000 residual income PER YEAR, PER DOMAIN, then keep reading.

What I suggest you do is look right in your own neighborhood for opportunities to help local businesses dominate the local search market. Focus on competitive service niches, as they have money to spend, and will remain paying clients to any one that can provide them value and results.

If you’re new to developing and leasing domain names then I would focus on one or two niches max, but scoop up a few great domains in each niche. From there you can start developing and ranking the domains, and during the ranking process you can begin identifying the best potential clients to reach out.

The goal is to invest $100 – $200 a year in these domains (don’t need to get silly like I do, remeber I have a domain name addiction), and then the other associated costs will run you about $250 or so for a good developers hosting account, and maybe another one time fee of $100 or so for a WordPress theme or two.

Total amount invested in starting your own domain name development and leasing company will be around $600 dollars (you can limp in with about $35 dollars if you buy one domain, get a basic hosting account, etc).

This cost can easily be covered, and you can generate a profit from just one client!

Of course this post assumes that you know the basics when it comes to setting up a WordPress website, having an understanding of the basics of SEO and content creation, and having a tad bit of motivation to want to make some serious income developing and leasing domains. (another side note – Having the genuine desire of helping others will also get you really far in this industry as well)

So this post is coming to an end, but the journey of developing and leasing .NYC domains has barely begun!

Authority Site Network (ASN)

January 2017 came and gone faster than any month I can remember. If I thought the end of 2016 was crazed with new business and our own development projects, the first month of 2017 quickly set a new record.

Developing domain names over the years and utilizing my concept of ‘circling’ has provided massive leads of BLAZING hot potential clients.

The process is to develop highly focused Local Authority Sites (LAS), strategically develop multiple LAS, and form your very own Authority Site Network (ASN).

I have written about the benefits of creating Local Authority Sites (LAS) mostly developed using descriptive domain names, with the goal of ultimately creating your own Authority Site Network (ASN), and these ASN’s have been helping my clients, and my business flourish.

One such niche where I have found developing LAS and ASN for is the tree service industry. If you’re looking to earn some serious income online, then you may want to explore developing in this niche, in your area as well.

I have purchased 100’s of tree service, tree removal, and tree company descriptive domain names for the NYC, Westcehster, NJ, CT areas. And I can’t develop them fast enough!

Authority Site Network (ASN) Strategy

If you’ve read my other posts on developing Local Authority Sites or registered to receive my domain development guides you already on your way developing local descriptive domain names. The next year step is to develop a strategy to create your very own Authority Site Network.

I’m going to get into my strategy here in this post, however if you want to understand my concept of ‘circling’ and how I develop domains into easily leased online assets be sure to send me an email.

LAS to ASN

Taking your Local Authority Sites and forming an Authority Site Network. You may be wondering how many LAS do you need to make up an ASN? I have found that at least 6 LAS are needed to form an ASN.

To create an ASN that will help you totally dominate your local service area or target niche I find tying together 10+ LAS is the way to go.

At minimum I use my 1, 2, 3 LAS development Strategy, which is:

1 main niche LAS
2 sub topics in the niche LAS
3 area focused LAS

When developing even more LAS to form a larger ASN I utilize my ‘circling’ process, and hand registering the domain names that will be developed is critical to this process. Understanding which domains to purchase, and in what order to develop them is key.

Also the sooner you start the better as you need to overcome some minor ‘new domain’ hurdles and properly get your site indexed.

Optimizing your ASN

Once you form your ASN utilizing 6 or more Local Authority Sites you need to continue to optimize and strengthen your ASN so that you are able to completely dominate your local search market.

I do this by continuing to treat the entire ASN as a single unit (like a website) which I constantly update with search engine optimized content and tie in our social accounts. I also leverage local business and community sites to create quality back links, and ultimately back link to the site I am circling (main site).

As you optimize and continue to strengthen your ASN you’re establishing local authority that will be almost impossible to topple, and once established, will not take many hours per month to maintain.

As with all of my development projects I just want to leave you with one last thought. Also be in development mode. As I have stated in many of my previous posts I am always developing LAS, and looking to form new ASN even if I do not have a current need to do so (for myself or clients).

Time keeps flying by. I am still banging away at the domain name development & leasing guide (eBook) that I have been working on for some time now, which is about 80% complete. With all of the emails I’m receiving asking when it’s going to be ready I feel even more pressure to produce a guide that offers tremendous value to everyone that reads it.

The .Life domain extension is one of the more popular new gTLD’s out there. With a domain portfolio of about 1000 domains, about 10% or so are made up of .club, .nyc, .company, .tips, and .website domain names. But in the past month I have acquired some premium 2 letter .Life domain names.

.life domain names.Life domain names I believe are awesome domain names to develop specifically for Countries, States, Cities, neighborhoods, etc. They also make great lifestyle sites, and other niche topic enthusiasts sites. And that is the intention of many of the .Life domains that I have acquired. I have registered a few great geo .Life domains that will be used in conjunction with another large scale project up in the Bridgeport CT area.

One of the dot Life domains will specifically be focusing on the Bridgeport area of Connecticut, and will be used in many of the online marketing efforts of the new real estate development project we will be providing most of the web development and SEO services on. This .Life domain name that we recently purchased is planned for use on one of the biggest development projects we have been awarded.

More information on these .Life domain names will be released shortly, but what I can say is that these domain names are being developed for the Cherry Street Lofts development project in Bridgeport Connecticut, and it’s one of the biggest development projects we have are working on to date.

What we can share about the project at this point:

Cherry Street Lofts Bridgeport CT, managed by Gary Flocco, of Corvus Capital Partners, has selected 10Tier.com to provide all of the web development and SEO services for this project. The $130 million Cherry Street Lofts project has been in the works since the development team came up with the idea in late 2013; it presented the project to City Hall in May 2014.

Gary Flocco stated that “after extensive research and review 10Tier.com was selected based on their 12 years+ of web development and local SEO expertise, and dedication to providing value in everything they do”.
