Domain Name Leasing Inquiry Overload
Is adding SEO keywords in domain name for first page results always a great search engine optimization tactic to use?
Sometimes unleashing the power of SEO can result in too much traffic! Sounds crazy, but in the past few months the amount of people emailing us to inquire about our domain name leasing services has reached an all time high! Some DO have amazing domain names, and many we just cringe as we are watching them make mistakes in ‘investing’ in hundreds of domains, speculating that others are going to come running to them to lease them.
We do share our advise, and spend HOURS sharing stories how we have spent in the 6 figures in buying and holding domain names, many of which we eventually dropped! Yes we still own over 1000 domains, and many 1 word & 3 letter premium domains, but we changed our domain name acquisition, development & domain name leasing strategies significantly since 2003.
At this point, as we have shared with dozens of people via phone calls in the last 5 days alone, we are on a MINIMUM 3 month freeze on ‘partnering’ with others on developing & leasing their domain names. The slight exception is for those rare, super premium one word .com domain names that we will always entertain. You may be thinking why only one word .com’s when we are such huge advocates of .nyc, .miami, .agency, and other gTLDs?
Answer: because we own HUNDREDS of our own super premium one word, and 3 letter domains that we have in the development queue!
The fact is there is too much opportunity, and too much business these days, and we just can’t keep up! (yes we have been adding to the team almost monthly).
So you want to experience some of this insane inbound lead generation, and capitalize from the amazing power SEO can deliver your business?
Then you may want to understand the benefits of SEO keywords in domain names for first page results.
As you can see below we are the #1 domain name leasing company on Google. Now it’s true that we do not have all of the keywords in our domain name, but the word leasing is included, and we do leverage many other key SEO tactics to get our site ranked #1.
With over 63 million search results, its kind of impressive to be not only ranked #1, but to have obtained the featured snippet as well!
(what could these kind of search engine ranking results do for your business?)
To be fully transparent this site is just a personal blog on leasing domain names, developing domain names, monetizing domain names, and any other news we want to share about ‘what’s doing’ on our side of things; but I am an SEO expert. This definitely is a big factor in why this website continues to rank #1 on the Search Engines.
But unlike the dozens of other websites that I operate that offer services that clients subscribe to…this site is strictly about sharing information and value to those who visit it.
So before I end this post I DO want to do two things:
1.) Encourage anyone to still reach out to us with their domain portfolios that want advise or feedback, but do understand it is highly unlikely we will consider any ‘partnerships’ before 2020.
2.) I want to share a bit more information on the benefits of SEO keywords in domain name for first page results, and hope find value in this information that you can utilize when developing domains, especially with the intentions of leasing your domain names to those who can benefit from your hard work!
SEO keywords in domain name for first page results
So why register keyword rich domain names, and even 3 word domain names? Quick answer, because they help drive more traffic to your website! Domain names that contain targeted keywords in the domain increase click-through rates, and higher rankings on search engines. Since 2003 we have found keyword-rich, descriptive domain names to benefit search engine rankings, and STILL today, we find domain names have an impact on SEO. Having the right domain name can help you target your audience, increase click through rates, and accelerate your search engine results.
But many people still argue that using descriptive domain names has no impact on your search engine rankings, and many wonder why? We really don’t care! We focus on what works, and don’t really focus on anything else!
In fact we rank for highly COMPETITIVE keywords using descriptive domain names for hundreds of sites. Time and time again we find search engines do use the keywords in domain names as a ranking factor, and we found that .NYC, .MIAMI are some amazing gTLDs to build a business on!
gTLDs vs TLDs
Super quick overview of both. Generic top-level domains (gTLDs) are one of the categories of top-level domains (TLDs) maintained by the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) for use in the Domain Name System of the Internet. A top-level domain is the last level of every fully qualified domain name. They are called generic for historic reasons; initially, they were contrasted with country-specific TLDs. The core group of generic top-level domains consists of the .com, .info, .net, and .org domains.
Because premium .com’s and other TLDs have been almost impossible to obtain, we LOVE the fact that there has been addition of hundreds of new gTLDs!!!
SEO Domain Name Strategy
So with this information on the benefits of using keyword rich descriptive domain names, how can you benefit form this information?
For starters, if you currently provide SEO services to other companies you should look at obtaining keyword rich domains related to your clients niche, and develop these domains into top ranking websites. Once you rank the websites you can easily lease these developed domain names to your clients.
Secondly, you can begin buying domain names related to the services you provide, or the products you sell and concatenate them with the geographic locations you do business in. You can then focus on developing top ranking Local Authority Sites (LAS), and then work on developing your own Authority Site Network (ASN). Doing so will virtually guarantee your success, and domination in the local markets you serve!
Lastly, if you want to lean more about domain name development, leasing domain names, and even starting your own digital marketing agency…or domain name leasing company please send me an email now. I’m in the final stages of developing a members ‘academy’ portal and would love to give access to those who have been on this long journey with me, before it is made available to everyone else.
See you on the other side!
